Wow, that hit me hard and took me way, way back to those first listens of Bramble Rose when it stayed on my CD changer for about 6 months. Worth a Grammy for that one and Bramble Rose alone. Certainly one of your very best. You should go up on that hill one day and sing it to your grandmom (a monument echo), although it truly smolders from the power of your piano playing. ... I think one of your new songs you sang here not long ago reminded me of Iris DeMent, but I'd have to say that Sunday does too. Always one of your most powerful songs. Truly great, IMO. Not too many out there better -- certainly as good, but not better.
Well, I should stop working in my bedroom art installation and go downstairs to my kitchen art installation and grab a beer for self-installation and then go dig Bramble Rose out of my CD art installation so I can live among the echos again.
Also, for some reason, Jean conspiring with her bud is sort of a scary thought. I can only imagine what they will dream up, but dream up they must.
Tift can’t seem to IM you directly via Substack. Just a thank you for the thoughtful package sent our way. May 2024 be filled with thousands more happy moments for Jean and you. I feel privileged to have a glimpse in to your personal lives and appreciate your willingness to share with all of us. Much love from Virginia.

Can I get a handwritten card whenever because I am a subscriber?
It would be cool.
But I get it if it only a promotion/incentive for new subscribers. 🌹
