Hello, Octopus, I'm glad to see you. Forgive me for being away but life called me elsewhere these past few months. Since I've seen you, I've written a bunch of new songs, taught at Richard Thompson's songwriting camp, gotten to know even more people doing work advocating for good in the world and remembered that my own story isn't a bad place to start to remind myself that being a tiny human with an heart open is really what the world wants from us.
Our garden is wild and full of weeds and wildflowers, and this time of year, I start the morning by deadheading the old blooms to make lots of room for the new ones. Nature is the finest teacher, and the sturdy frame of a burnt orange calla lily brought me this one.
Much love, Tift
